What Is Proximity Key?
by Corry Williams -
A proximity key (also known as Smart Key, Push Button Start.Keyless Access.Keyless Entry, Keyless Go or Push-to-Start) is a little device that permits a key-less entrance and push-to-start ignition in your car.
When you’re within the proper radius, the keyless device interacts through combination of audio and infrared waves with your immobilized computer to unlock and lock car doors and even to start up the engine having the key in the pocket.
Way back in 1998, Mercedes-Benz was the first company to present this system in their vehicles.
At present, car drivers can take advantage of push-start ignition and proximity fobs on most auto motive models and use functionality as alarm, vehicle theft countering protection, power windows, automatic door closing and unlocking and many more.
